Training Recap 8/25

First: We will be at Chrinergy Fields tomorrow on Berger Road. I wanted to try the outfield of the baseball field but it is too small and impacts our training. I did it for our kids in town who have a hard time getting rides this week but we need the space of Chrinergy. Sorry for the back and forth but this is the right call.

Second: One of themes every high school coach looks to drive home is “boys to men” – the transition from practicing and operating as boys to practicing and moving towards a common goal as men. In college the name changes from “boys soccer” to “men’s soccer”.

Drew University (D3) in Madison NJ carries more than 40 boys on their roster. Only 11 start. Everyone works hard for the team – whether they start, whether they sub, whether they train and encourage and stay ready.

Here is Colorado College Practice

Colorado is D3 and the quality is high. Don’t be fooled thinking D3 is easy – it is not. Communication is high. I am looking for a higher standard here at Wilson Area. Listen to the cheering of teammates during final 3 x 2 training.

Or an inside look at UConn soccer (D1)
